Whats up?

I know, I know... I haven't been writing something for a while. There were several reasons, some of them are:
* The new lab that I joined at the beginning of the summer is moving to a new place, so most days I was involved with moving things around. It is not still finished!
* My permanent residency for Canada has been approved and I am planning to go there in August.
* One paper that Mike and I wrote got accepted to a conference in Finland, and I WAS planning to go there and here is the reason behind "WAS":

My original plan was to go to Finland->Canada->US. Very easy!
The thing is that you can apply for a return visa only from outside of US. I was hoping to go to Finland and book the appointment right after my arrival to Canada. The online website USED TO give out appointments for next 4 weeks for Calgary. Yes ... USED TO, they changed it to 8 weeks which screwed me up! But they provided me with an option to apply for emergency application... As you might guess I was rejected for that, but! they told me to apply from Finland. Well why not? I go there, apply, go back to Canada, and then post my passport. I was happy for HALF OF A DAY since all of their appointments where open. They emailed me to apply from other countries like Italy or Dubai! After describing the whole situation they told me that I can apply but I should notice that:
* They might hold my passport for a while! -> I have to stay in Finland
* Since they dont know Iranians well, it might take a long time for them to approve my application!

Well I have had enough, Finland can wait...
